Abstract

"We prove an asymptotic formula for the second moment (up to height $T$) of the Riemann zeta function with two shifts. The case we deal with is where the real parts of the shifts are very close to zero and the imaginary parts can grow up to $T^{2-\varepsilon}$, for any $\varepsilon>0.$"

Durante il mio soggiorno estivo in California sono riuscito dimostrare un piccolo teoremino, su cui poi avevo iniziato a preparare un articolo. Ad ottobre ho sottoposto (si dice così in italiano?) l'articolo all'International Journal of Number Theory e ora, finalmente, ho avuto una risposta:

"It is a decent result, not great but publishable. The paper is well written and fairly short. I recommend publication."

Giudizio tutto sommato molto equo: so benissimo che non è granché e se in futuro riuscissi a scrivere parecchi articoli questo sarà uno di quelli che nasconderò sotto il tappeto, però, nel frattempo.... ho una pubblicazione! Yuppi!
